A few weeks ago I was searching for a local web designer near me that could help me with my online presence. I know how important it is to have good exposure in today’s market – it’s vital to get the most customers you can get so you can maximize your profits and revenue. When looking for a web designer near me, I decided to make the process as painless as possible so I wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of finding a designer by myself or spending valuable time on internet search engines trying to find one.
First of all, I went online and searched for a local web designers near me. It was a very simple process and I was surprised with the results. I even got several websites that looked exactly like what I was looking for. It was very impressive to see the amount of websites that were available for me to choose from – it was really impressive to see just how many local web designers there are out there that I didn’t have to search too hard for!
Once I had a list of a few local web designers, I decided to make a few calls and interview them. My goal here was to find out if they were a reputable company, creative, professional, friendly, and experienced. After making a list of all the qualities I was looking for, I made a short list of questions. I asked them about their experience, website design portfolio, and even spoke to a few customer service representatives and waited for responses. Here are some things that I learned:
The web designer that spoke with me was a great web designer but he wasn’t a web developer or an SEO expert. He didn’t know anything about website design at all and only started building websites when he was 30 years old. It took him four years to build his first website. He admitted that he was a little intimidated at first because he didn’t really know what he was doing. His biggest challenge was learning the different coding languages that are involved with building a website.
Another web designer that I spoke with was very professional, but he wasn’t someone that I wanted to hire right away. His web design experience was limited to some database driven websites. He knew that he needed to start building websites in order to grow his business. He knew that SEO was important but he didn’t really understand how powerful it could be until he got into web design full-time. Now he spends a lot more time on SEO and HTML.
A website designer that I spoke with was very knowledgeable and qualified for many things but not web design. He started his web design career working as a computer graphic designer. He struggled and failed for a few years and then decided to pursue web design full-time. He wasn’t happy at first and said that it was difficult to learn new skills and do a variety of things at the same time but now he’s doing very well.
You need to be willing to jump in and out of a website design career. If you’re not willing to do this then you shouldn’t get into the website design. The most successful web designers all have experience with all types of websites, whether it’s a blog a community website, ecommerce website or any type you can think of.
The key to being successful with website design is to take action. Don’t think that you’re just going to sit around not updating your website or adding new features to your website. If you don’t get started you will end up regretting it because you won’t have visitors coming to your website and eventually your website will go offline. Get started today! Don’t put it off another day. Start working on your website design projects today.
